Private & Semi-Private Pilates Sessions

Pilates is a low impact movement technique that can help someone come back from injury, help correct posture, increase flexibility and create a strong core. I will create a workout that is specific to your needs and goals no mater what your age or physical condition.

I am recording at home mat pilates videos to do at your convenience; those are $5 each.

Class #3 is available - Mat pilates with ball

I am still doing online privates for those who are not ready to go back into the studio, those are $40 a session.

Meet Daphne

DANCER, DANCE TEACHER, PILATES INSTRUCTOR

As long as I can remember, I’ve always loved dancing and moving. At the age of 5, I was dancing too hard in the grocery store and knocked down a pyramid of oranges! That's when my mom knew it was time to enroll me in dance classes. It started with creative movement, jazz and tap. When I began formal ballet training and the pointe shoes went on, I knew for sure that I wanted to be professional dancer. 


I trained primarily in traditional Vaganova method under Marat Daukayev, former principal dancer with the Kirov Ballet. I then attended The Hartt School of Music, Dance and Theatre (Hartford, CT) studying under the direction of Peggy Lyman, former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Company. In college I was introduced to formal modern dance techniques, continued my ballet training and was mentored in teaching ballet, Graham and other disciplines. I graduated Manga Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Pedagogy in 2005.

After college, I moved to San Francisco where I developed my artistry and expanded my technique dancing with several contemporary ballet and modern companies. I performed locally and toured nationally and internationally including performances at Jacob’s Pillow and festivals in Poland and Belarus.


After a serious injury I was introduced to Pilates as part of my rehabilitation. It was immediately clear how the practice could benefit my dance career. In 2017, I returned to my native LA to begin studying various movement techniques, and became certified as a classical Pilates instructor by Whole Body Method. Completing the Pilates certification illuminated my perspective on how to use muscles in an efficient and powerful way that will keep the body healthy and strong. I believe that ballet, modern dance and Pilates are all intertwined in their pursuit of creating a strong, flexible, and mindful body and I am excited to share my practice with all who can benefit from it.
